About this Project

The lapa was a dusty patch where grass did not grow, and in the rains was a mud-bath. In such a pretty garden, the lapa was simply not utilised. This certainly qualifies as a small project (and we have done smaller).

The pentagon shape is determined by the poles of the lapa; SmartStone 440 x 440 mm flagstones, colour Sandstone, were laid on a light cement screed in the stretcherbond pattern. Cobble was fitted as an aesthetic border which also disguises the cut faces of the flagstones. The joints were sponge-grouted with a cement mix. The pavers have been sealed.
