About this Project

We are pleased to have worked with a number of developers who insist on quality installations rather than the cheapest installer. As the professional relationships have matured so more of the design, product and implementation requirements have been handed over.

Typically there is a time constraint as paving is one of the final project phases in the developer’s deadline, and installation has to be completed with other sub-contractors, such as tilers, painters and plumbers, competing for space.

This is not ideal as it disrupts the paving installation programme. However we are flexible and responsive and will manage our own project plan around the developer and site.

Highlighted is a premium development n Bryanston. 1 100 sq.m. of Infraset Cottagestone 200 x 150 mm cement pavers, colour Grey, were installed for the complex driveway with 800 sq.m. of matching Infraset Masonique 220 x 110 mm pavers for the individual units.

With correct design standards, pre-cast kerbing was fitted around all perimeters – a combination of mountable and barrier kerbs, with relevant transition kerbs.

Two particular challenges were managed in this project: firstly the complex was specified for standard domestic / light commercial traffic, but the continued building of some unis still required heavy duty deliveries over the common roadway, such as concrete trucks and bulk deliveries, which the ‘standard’ sub-base installed was able to absorb; secondly the late inclusion of fibre and communications meant service lines laid in trenches post-paving installation – this and subsequent design changes were accommodated.

A particularly challenging project was the re-development of the Sparkling Waters Hotel in the Magaliesberg, a project of 2 400 sq.m. using the premium Corobrik Nutmeg paver.

We successfully planned for the logistics of a remote site for product and material deliveries, staff accommodation and food, project management and supervision.
